The first China Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Forum was held in Boao, Hainan.
The forum is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture of the people's Republic of China and the Hainan Provincial Government.
With the theme of "developing seed industry science and technology and ensuring food security", the forum summarized and exchanged important achievements and experiences in the scientific and technological development of China's seed industry in recent years.
Attending the forum were Wan Gang, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and minister of science and technology, Zhang Taolin, vice minister of agriculture, Chen Xiwen, deputy head of the Central Rural work leading Group, and Luo Baoming, governor of Hainan Province. the forum also invited some well-known scientists and seed entrepreneurs in the field of agricultural science and technology in China.

The leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and other state ministries, as well as a number of experts, scholars and managers respectively discuss how to expand and strengthen China's seed industry, how to cultivate the core competitiveness of enterprises, how to make a reasonable division of labor and effective docking between the innovation of enterprises and the research and technological innovation of scientific research institutes and colleges and universities, and how to make enterprises become the main body of technological innovation.
Academician Yuan Longping, the father of hybrid rice, interviewed by many media, pointed out that hybrid rice will make greater contributions to the development of seed industry and the guarantee of food security. The research of hybrid rice is conducive to the sustained and healthy development of China's economy, enhance the development level of science and technology of China's seed industry, and promote the sustainable development of agriculture and environmental protection.
