On the morning of the 30th, the expert group first tested and accepted the breeding site of the three-line male sterile line L6A of hybrid japonica rice jointly bred by the company and the center in Ninghe County, Tianjin City, and then identified the three-line male sterile line long 17A of hybrid japonica rice in the Twelve streets of the Development Zone. In the afternoon, the researchers of the company introduced the basic situation of fertility, resistance, quality and yield of L6A and Long17A to the expert group, and the expert group put forward some suggestions on the identification methods of variety resistance and quality and the environmental conditions of male sterile line breeding.
Finally, the expert group agreed that long 17A has stable sterility and good rice quality, which can be widely used in the breeding of new japonica hybrid rice combinations in Huang-Huai rice region. L6A has large stigma, high exposure rate, strong stigma vigor and high outcrossing seed setting rate, and the equivalent yield per mu after deducting excessive water content is up to 331.1 kg, which effectively solves the problems of low reproductive yield and poor yield stability of hybrid japonica male sterile lines, and is of great significance to the development of japonica hybrid rice.
