The identification meeting of restorer lines and male sterile lines of Tianlong Company and National Japonica Rice Center was successfully held.
The expert group first identified the japonica rice restorer lines R19 and 18A jointly bred by the company and the center in Ninghe County and the 12th Street of the Development Zone in Tianjin, and then listened to the reports of breeding personnel on their characteristics, quality, yield and so on. the expert group put forward some suggestions on the identification methods of variety resistance and quality and the environmental conditions of male sterile line breeding.
The expert group agreed that restorer line R19 had strong restoring ability to BT type male sterile line, with wide adaptability, high combining ability, good resistance and good rice quality, and male sterile line 18A had large glume opening angle, high stigma exposure rate and strong stigma vitality. it can be used in the combination of hybrid japonica rice.
The experts at the meeting agreed that the restorer line R19 and BT three-line male sterile line 18A of japonica rice were identified.
