On January 29, the on-site acceptance meeting of "National Japonica Rice Engineering and Technology Research Center" was successfully held in Tianjin Binhai New area. In 2011, the National Japonica Rice Engineering and Technology Research Center was formally established with the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and is the supporting unit of the key laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture, the national technology transfer agency and the hybrid rice industry alliance. Based in Tianjin, the center has set up test stations in major japonica rice areas at home and abroad, carried out innovation around the key technical issues restricting industrial development, such as low seed production and poor rice quality of hybrid japonica rice, and achieved a series of major scientific research achievements. a series of engineering and industrialization capabilities have been formed. During the construction period, 10 new japonica rice varieties (combinations) which were suitable for different ecological regions and increased yield by more than 5% compared with the control were bred, and the varieties were extended to more than 5 million mu. In particular, the new hybrid japonica rice variety Long6 you 19 organically combines high quality, wide adaptability and high resistance, which is not only the first-grade rice of the national standard, but also has a wide range of adaptation areas. 22 national invention patents and 8 new variety protection were applied, among which the application of the patent technology "a method for breeding male sterile lines of japonica rice with high stigma exposure rate" could double the yield of hybrid japonica rice seed production, up to 338.4kg/ mu, and solved the key technical problem of low yield of hybrid japonica seed production. The patent won the Tianjin Patent Gold Award. Through the combination of growing grain and matching technological innovation with engineering services, the center has formed an operating mechanism of the industrial chain layout innovation chain, which leads the virtuous cycle of the industrial chain, and promotes the industrial development of hybrid japonica rice. it has made new contributions to the increase of high-quality food rations in China.
